Global policies addressing the protection of women and girls are unevenly applied, notably in cases of humanitarian crises that are hidden or intentionally forgotten in the context of global imperialism and racism. This chapter highlights the contradictory impact of the United Nations in the Global South as an international body producing policies aimed at protecting women’s rights in humanitarian settings and coordinating development interventions that ultimately lead to infringing racialized women’s rights.
