It has been 59 years, after the arduous vindication women movements especially those leaded by the Feminine League for Social Action (in French Ligue féminine d’action sociale), they promulgated the haitian women´s political rights. Nowadays, in spite of certain changes and advances in this respect, the problem of gender inequality, especially speaking of political participation continues to be a major challenge in the haitian society.
