This article analyzes why so few women participate in electoral politics in Haiti. Among 2,029 candidates who registered in the 2015 elections only 162, or 8%, were female. The article goes on to interview several female candidates to discuss what their experiences were like in the political field, many of which included some form of sexist violence. (Summary by Mouka)
